KHANI'S presents...
Our Dogs
In the ring and on the field...
Khani's Basenjis play a major role in our lives...
and their temperaments stand out from all the rest...

At
Khani's Basenjis, we pride ourselves on the exceptional temperaments and superb
health of our dogs.
All of our dogs are children- and home-raised.
There isn't a Khani's basenji that isn't completely enamored with small
children.
See our *Show Companions* page for dogs that we may co-own but they live the life of luxury as someone else's pet. They like to visit us for training, dog shows, and lure coursing. As a show companion, these puppies get the best of both worlds ... they are first and foremost a happy family's loving pet ... but, they are also well-trained and conditioned show dogs that enjoy spending quality time with the other Khani's Basenjis during shows and lure trials.

If
showing ONE basenji isn't crazy enough... a few times a year I venture into the
ring with a Brace (two) or a Team (four) of Basenjis.
Being the daredevil (most people just call it nutso!) that I am.. I don't train
them
to show together before hand... they are lucky (or is it that *I* am unlucky??)
if
they have 15 minutes on the lead together before we go in the ring.

Second to the left picture is Burner, Benny, Breaker and De La, the 2002 WVBC Specialty winning TEAM!!
Far right two pictures are BB/FireBall, on their way to Brace BIS at the
2007 BCOA National Specialty.
In
our breeding program, we strive for the best show dog we can get, but what good
is a top show dog if it isn't sweet, personable, and easy to live with ??
Check out the History of Khani's Basenjis . . . see where we began . . . and
where we are today . . . as each generation of Khani's basenjis is more
outstanding than the last . . . yet, the temperaments in our basenjis still
stand out from all the rest.
Socialization
plays an important role in the well-being of a
happy healthy basenji.

Our "Puppy Party" on 5/15/04... we had 16 puppies and 15 people attending!
Our
basenjis excel in the show ring and make
excellent companions.
But, their favorite activity is
lure coursing. We enjoy coursing our dogs
as it is
really exciting to watch them "hunting" like a true bush dog.

Presently,
there are FIVE American Dual Champions at Khani's Basenjis (we lost two of our
Dual Champions in the spring of 2006.. Miss De La and her son BENNY will be missed).
While at the same time, there are two Khani's Basenjis running their buns
off in hopes of that elusive major towards their AKC Field Championships.

2004-5 has brought us numerous new Junior Coursers, Senior Coursers and a Master
Courser... as well as THREE
All-Breed (AKC and ASFA) Best In Fields !!!!
